The Class 57 are heavy British diesel locomotives that have been converted from class 47 diesel locomotives that are no longer required by brush traction and equipped with EMD motors. Between 1998 and 2004 a total of 33 units were converted. The first years of construction were between 1964 and 1967.
The model consists of approx. 1906 individual parts and is approx. 67 knobs long. The roof is removable, the cabins have some details. The locomotive can be equipped with up to two Power Functions XL motors, then both bogies are powered. The battery box and the IR receiver can easily be accommodated in the large housing.
