The type XII H2 steam locomotives were specially developed for the hilly terrain of Saxony. A total of 169 units were built in Chemnitz by the Sächsische Maschinenfabrik between 1910 and 1927. After the First World War, the remaining locomotives were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn under the designation DR BR 38.2-3. The steam locomotives reached top speeds of up to 90km/h.
The finished model consists of approx. 1121 components and can be easily motorised with Power-Functions, Powered-up, as well as with an old 9V railway motor. The complete electronics are housed in the carbon tender. The locomotive impresses with its unique design with golden boiler rings and other accents in gold.
The model was specially developed for the 3D printed wheels available here.
